AREAS OF PRACTICE

            CRIMINAL LAW

In the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Rules of the Supreme Court prohibit a lawyer from asserting ‘certification’, ‘specialization’, ‘expertise’, or ‘authority’ in any particular field of law.  That being said, I began practicing in November 2005 exclusively as a criminal defense attorney, and I know the intricacies of criminal defense better than I do any other field of legal practice.  I have represented hundreds of clients in cases where the charges have ranged from alcohol intoxication and traffic offenses (including driving under the influence of alcohol) to serious felony offenses including offenses involving controlled substances, violent crimes such as assault and robbery, felony theft and theft by fraud, sex crimes, criminal behavior directed against the legal system, and murder.  While I currently handle cases that fall outside the scope of a pure criminal defense practice, my time and resources are overwhelmingly focused on providing criminal defense services and learning more about topics related to criminal defense.

            FAMILY LAW

While my primary devotion is to criminal defense, I cannot ignore the clear fact that individuals are in need of representation in cases involving divorce, spousal support, child support, domestic violence, child custody, and visitation rights.  I am especially familiar with those occasions where domestic law and criminal law meet.

            GENERAL PRACTICE

I also attempt to maintain a limited general practice in order maintain a sound general knowledge of the law.  Unless impeded by time constraints, I am generally willing to handle a simple will or probate issue.  I also offer free half-hour consultation on any other legal issue.
